The Geodiversity database
In 2006 the Wildlife Trust, with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, produced ‘The Tees Valley Geology CD-ROM’.

In turn this CD-ROM included the earlier Geodiversity Action Plan database of ‘Sites of Geodiversity Interest in the Tees Valley’ developed and produced by the Tees Valley Wildlife Trust in association with the Tees Valley RIGS Group.
The content of that database is included in this website under the Geodiversity database section.
But why repeat the information?
The CD-ROM is designed to be used on a PC running the Windows operating system. This website can be accessed from any web browser whatever the operating system.
Also this website is designed to be interactive. For example, a user can post comments or questions to this website. Such a feature is not possible with any CD-ROM.
The information given in this website can be updated if necessary, but information on a CD-ROM cannot be changed, edited or amended.
